My Chunky Monkey

Every morning when I shut off my alarm clock, and stumble slowly to the bathroom, feeling my way through the dark hallway to the light switch, I always feel like I am being watched. And indeed, I always am.

By whom you may ask?? By my cats. All of them, watching and waiting, and I always imagine laughing and snickering at my blind stumbling, taking bets on how long it will take me to make it to the bathroom, down the hall, without tripping.

And while I seriously have my doubts about the sincerity of some of my cats' affections (I think some of them only love me for the free food and rub-downs), I can always rely on my Maximo to be there meowing and smiling when I finally wake up in the mornings.

*Here he is in all his glory, waiting and watching for me to come visit before I start getting ready...

Come on, you just can't deny this kind of devotion ;). I mean, without his running alongside the edge of the counter while I get ready, rubbing against my black shirts (and it's always only the black ones- that then have to be shaken or rubbed with a lint roller) or even sitting on my makeup, I would seriously doubt the validity of my mornings.

He's my lil' chunky monkey and I wouldn't trade him for anything :). I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far...

Happy Sunday everyone!

Once again, the week is about to begin anew. There just really doesn't seem to be enough time on the weekends, especially when you work the whole time through. Sigh...if I only could freeze time. I would definitely take pictures, listen to my music, and drink Starbucks all day long. Alas, reality is waiting; tomorrow is Monday ;).

I hope that everyone had a relaxing day.

Movie-Going

I've noticed that in the last few weeks since school started, I've been spending almost all my free time watching movies (even though school work is slightly more important haha).

I watched Mamma Mia the other day and remembered how much I love it. The singing, the choreography, the spontaneity. That whole movie just does it for me. I can just imagine living on an island like that with a mother just like Meryl Streep's 'Donna' ;).

I especially love the clothes that the Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried wear. For me, they are everything breezy and European and all that good summer clothes should be.

I will definitely be on the lookout for similar pieces to help me make it through the blistering Texas summer ahead :).

This Crazy Little Thing Called Life

Ah. This is going to be my first blog post, my first step into the blogging world. I've been toying with what to say and what to focus my blog on for quite some time as my sisters can readily agree with.

But, in the spirit of the new life that I am creating for myself, I have decided that it doesn't really matter what this first post is about really ;). The important thing is that I am starting it, just as I am trying to be me, and to be okay with who I really am.
