My taste in music has changed drastically over the past couple of years and is heavily influenced by the places I've lived too. I can honestly say though that this "obsession" didn't really start until my senior year in high school. Before that I would just listen to the radio or the many CD's that I had. Come to think of it, that was also before I bought my first iPod, which I saved and saved and saved for. Yes, that's probably why I became more aware of bands and artists and the like.
But anyways, one band that has stayed with me, faithfully supplying me with lovely tunes is All Time Low. I can't even remember how I found out about them to be honest. It was probably something I heard online and then it stuck with me and then I was obsessed with it and then had to have more. You know the way it goes?! I was 18 I think and this was everything and anything to me. Here was a band that was in your face, unashamedly dirty, and represented to me all that being young and confused was about. I was in love instantly. I rushed out (ha only kidding, to the computer) and bought the actual CD from amazon.com because they seemed too important to me to just download the songs. Love love love.
I have stayed faithful to the band to this day even though they are becoming more mainstream and their style has changed. I've never really been one of those people to hate a band when they change things up though (case in point: Simple Plan). Nothing will ever replace that first CD I bought from them and every time I hear it, all the memories of that summer after my senior year come rushing back. Listening to Put Up Or Shut Up makes me smile still and I can often be seen driving down the highway with my windows open and blasting it. It never fails to lift my mood and will probably always make me feel young at heart.
I was lucky enough this year to see them live here in town which I can seriously say was the highlight of my year :). I remember surveying the crowd and realizing that the majority of the people attending were screaming and fanatic 16 year olds. There was however one older 30 something there that I first thought was a mom chaperoning or something, but lo and behold, she was actually a fan. She knew all the words to all the songs and was singing along much better than many of the others there. I was inspired :).
All Time Low is the band that introduced me to the punk/pop/alternative rock that I have grown to love and will always be a part of me. Now you know. :P
P.S. I am (not so) secretly in love with Alex Gaskarth (as are probably most of the girls who love the band out there). My love is eternal though, Alex. Pinkie promise. Marry me??
Some of my favorite songs include:
My absolute fave. ^

Haha. Well, I guess that's enough for now. Any thoughts? I hope you enjoyed listening.
Happy Tuesday!
