Of course it's Regina's. Apparently she's my current inspiration/infatuation.
I seem to go through singers/bands at a pretty fast rate. I'm constantly breathing in their lyrics, dancing to their songs, and feeling life-changed after constant replays. But there are certain ones that I obsess over for months at a time, constantly, constantly, constantly, playing them over and over and over and over again. I don't know if that's considered "healthy" (or whatever) but that's just me. Then after some time goes by I'm ready for something new and I have to have it immediately. I mean I always come back to my faves but I guess, after obsessing for quite so long I need a break? And I don't really see any of that changing anytime soon. So sorry, to all those who know me personally and have to drive around with me as I unabashedly sing along to what I most love. For now, anyways. Next week? It might be someone different. ;)
I freakin' love Seether. I always have. I probably always will.
I hate to stereotype but when I tell people this, they never believe me. Apparently I look like the kind of girl that only would listen to country or whatever.
Just FYI, that is so not the case.
These have been two of my favorite songs for the past three years, I guess.
Because I was definitely one of those people that rushed to the store to buy the album when it first came out ;).
Happy Sunday!
And boo to waiting to the last minute to do assignments :(. I think tomorrow is going to be a long day...
Soooo. It's been forever. Yes, I know. But I swear, school is so overwhelming sometimes that I just can't summon up the energy to get online and write. But I got through those horrid midterms and kicked butt and now it's spring break!!! Well, it's a few days in but hooray just the same :).
And in very happy news, it's been hot enough the last few days to wear shorts!! Things are definitely looking up ;).
Since I have been absent for so long (approximately 10 days if you've been counting), here are 10 things that I love and/or that make me extremely happy:
cupcakes. yum.
organizing my closet. haha. what can I say? I like things to be in order.
springtime. it's hot enough in Texas to wear shorts but there's still a breeze (unlike during the muggy hot summers. blah. :/ )
my pets. they make everything better.
traveling. going on adventures.
drinking cups of tea with my mommy. she makes for amazing company.
my freckles. I take great delight in discovering a new cluster of them on my skin :D.
going to the movies. eating their greasy popcorn and laughing over the silly parts with whomever I happen to be there with.
getting dressed up (and the time and effort it takes to know that 'damn, I look good'.)
surfing the Internet and looking for inspiration, choosing new desktops for my laptop, and adding 1,ooo s of dollars to my virtual shopping cart and just dreaming about owning all that pretty stuff :).
That's probably enough for today. I have to go finish vacuuming my room :(. sigh. It has to be done...
I hope everyone is doing well. What are some things that make you happy??
Oh and Happy Tuesday!
I am so excited for tomorrow. I love St. Patty's Day. And wearing green.
And bonus, I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow too. Yay!

Ever since I was a little girl I have been involved in some form of sport or physical activity. Whether it be softball, basketball, tennis, soccer, or track, I was always on the go from the time I could first grip a ball (or at least tie my shoe laces). A few of these sports were experimental and only lasted for a few seasons but then again a few of them were my life.
I never played to win or become popular or whatever. I played because I loved it. I had fun, got a free excuse to get my hands (and clothes) dirty, and got to make great friends. When I reached high school though it all changed for me. I realized that to many of the girls that made up my team, this was their lives and they really didn't want to share. They wanted to win and win only. The coaches expected you to play your hardest, work your butt off, and win championships for them and for the school. After a few on and off seasons of this I started getting worn down. I started to hate going to practices and loathed the attitudes of the other teams we faced. Everything was just different.
I finished out my final season and made the most out of the experience, but tried to move on. I knew there had to be bigger and greater things out there for me to do.
In the off times after I left competitive sports behind me, I discovered running. For the record, let me just clarify that I had never really enjoyed running before. The only running I ever really did was for time, sprinting down the track, sand, or gym floors, with sweat dripping down my neck and face, with coaches yelling at me.
I remember though the first time I laced up my sneakers and went for a run in our village in Germany. I was intrigued that so many people seemed to be doing it and managed to keep finding the motivation to go on.
I was in love. I couldn't believe it. For the first time in a long time I felt at peace. Pounding down the pavement and treading through the forests and fields became therapeutic for me. I had finally found something that I could do for me that did not have to be a competition. And it really didn't matter if I was the fastest or the slowest to finish any race. The point was that I finished. And felt good doing it.
That was enough. Ever since then running has become my thing. I will not claim to be the most dedicated, fastest, slowest, or even built runner out there, but what I will say is that I run because I love it and I run because it has become part of me.
Are there any sports that you love or activities that you love to take part in? I would really love to hear about them. I hope everyone had a great week. I, for one, am sooooo glad it's the weekend. Lots to do, lots to do.
Happy Friday!

Yes, indeed. I seem to have a "thing" for dark-haired actors. And of course, if they have accents naturally, so much the better. I seem to be also especially fond of men in the Hugh category. I love them all and will often watch a movie simply because they are in it.
For those of you who know me personally, you know it might be safe to say that I am a music fanatic. I am constantly searching for new music, my "soundtrack" for the week or month or whatever. I probably spend way too much time and money on music but I justify it by reminding myself how good it makes me feel. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that is there? So now you know one of my biggest life's loves haha.
My taste in music has changed drastically over the past couple of years and is heavily influenced by the places I've lived too. I can honestly say though that this "obsession" didn't really start until my senior year in high school. Before that I would just listen to the radio or the many CD's that I had. Come to think of it, that was also before I bought my first iPod, which I saved and saved and saved for. Yes, that's probably why I became more aware of bands and artists and the like.
But anyways, one band that has stayed with me, faithfully supplying me with lovely tunes is All Time Low. I can't even remember how I found out about them to be honest. It was probably something I heard online and then it stuck with me and then I was obsessed with it and then had to have more. You know the way it goes?! I was 18 I think and this was everything and anything to me. Here was a band that was in your face, unashamedly dirty, and represented to me all that being young and confused was about. I was in love instantly. I rushed out (ha only kidding, to the computer) and bought the actual CD from amazon.com because they seemed too important to me to just download the songs. Love love love.
I have stayed faithful to the band to this day even though they are becoming more mainstream and their style has changed. I've never really been one of those people to hate a band when they change things up though (case in point: Simple Plan). Nothing will ever replace that first CD I bought from them and every time I hear it, all the memories of that summer after my senior year come rushing back. Listening to Put Up Or Shut Up makes me smile still and I can often be seen driving down the highway with my windows open and blasting it. It never fails to lift my mood and will probably always make me feel young at heart.
I was lucky enough this year to see them live here in town which I can seriously say was the highlight of my year :). I remember surveying the crowd and realizing that the majority of the people attending were screaming and fanatic 16 year olds. There was however one older 30 something there that I first thought was a mom chaperoning or something, but lo and behold, she was actually a fan. She knew all the words to all the songs and was singing along much better than many of the others there. I was inspired :).
All Time Low is the band that introduced me to the punk/pop/alternative rock that I have grown to love and will always be a part of me. Now you know. :P
P.S. I am (not so) secretly in love with Alex Gaskarth (as are probably most of the girls who love the band out there). My love is eternal though, Alex. Pinkie promise. Marry me??
Some of my favorite songs include:
My absolute fave. ^
THE best video ever.^
Haha. Well, I guess that's enough for now. Any thoughts? I hope you enjoyed listening.
For the entire month of March I will attempt to give a random piece of information (a piece of me, if you will) that gives others a look into all that is my baloney.
You see, I am still new to blogging and haven't quite found my place. I am hoping that this will help me to find my way -blogly speaking of course. :P
The month of March is particularly important to me because it is my last month of being *this old*; my birthday is in April and this time it's gonna be a big one. I will officially start tomorrow, the 2nd of March 2010 and go until the 3rd of April which is THE day before the big day.
So brace yourselves and cross your fingers. Here's lookin' at me! :) Wish me luck...
Things have been pretty good recently, I can't complain too much. I've just been swamped with school and everything, which accounts for my total lack of posts in the last two weeks. :(
I hope all is well in blogging world and the only other thing I can say is thank goodness it's almost Spring Break. I am definitely looking forward to some time off to do anything and everything I want... I think a Road Trip is definitely in order.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
