Well, another year has come and gone. I'm older, yes, but wiser? Maybe. I've never been the type of person to say, "When I'm (this old), I want to be (here)," so I can't realistically sit here and say, "Damn, I didn't make it." Or...whatever. After all that I've been through, I'm still just glad to be here. Alive. Relatively happy with my life. Pretty satisfied. I mean, things will never be perfect. But, because it's a new year, I'm allowing myself to dream. To dream about where I want my life to go. What I really want for myself. For now I'll just focus on me. Ok? Ok.

In 2011, I will:

1. maintain my friendships.
2. try new things. Even if I'm really, really scared.
3. believe in myself.
4. remember to take care of myself.
5. go to more concerts/shows.
6. keep reading.
7. run.
8. laugh until it hurts.
9. be creative.
10. road trip.
11. be spontaneous/be adventurous.
12. fall in love.

That's it for now. I'm off now to go get some chai and read some books at Borders with my sisters. Because that's how we like to ring in the New Year. :)

Today I was getting online to do "productive" things of course ;) and was practically slapped over the head with this message whilst trying to access my youtube homepage.

It made me smile anyways. :)

Celebrate my life

As most of you know, I just started my new job last week. Well, this week marked the first week of "officially" working with the kiddos, in more of a classroom setting. Basically, my job is awesome. You can be jealous; it's okay. ;)

I've been really busy the past two weeks what with starting my new job, ending my old job, getting ready for school, starting school, and trying to also maintain a bit of a social life.

The past two weeks were a little like this:

• Swimming, swimming, and more swimming
• Swing dancing to some live jazz downtown (see photo :])
• Homemade spaghetti dinner with my coworkers at their apartment- yum!
• Lunch with my boss and coworkers (surprisingly really fun)
• Enjoying the last of the summer sun
• Getting a slight sunburn because of said summer sun
• Lots of iced chais
• Lots of chocolate
• Finding some great sales and buying cute things
• Buying my very first car!! (with my own money)
• Driving my very first car
• Fixing up my very first car (thanks, Dad!)
• Registering my very first car with the tax office (yikes!)
• Getting to know some fantastic boys at work :) (I love my job)
• Spending some time with my good friend, R
• Scott Pilgrim with R for his birthday
• Girls night out with my sisters: French food and Eat Pray Love :)
• Starting classes
• Surviving my first week of classes
• Freckle multiplication
• And listening to loads of great music

That's pretty much what's been going on here with me, Baloney.

First Approaching Is The Day

Hey guys! Guess what?!

I just got back from vacation!

And oh boy, was it fun.

My family and I decided that this summer we should be loyal little Texas citizens (which is in itself an oxymoron) and spend our vacation seeing some of the local sights. I'm actually pretty glad that we did that this time. Texas is such a HUGE state I don't think it's even possible to see it all. Even in the expanse of a lifetime.

Not to mention the fact that I haven't really seen that much of my home state. I know, I know. Shame, shame. ;) But, really, my life has been almost split up between living here and living in Germany. And I've been busy with school and work and family and friends and...life! I haven't really had a chance to do as much sight seeing here as I would have liked. I feel like I need to get caught up on all there is to see here (a bit) before I attempt to travel anywhere else in the whole wide world. Just a thought anyways.

Oh! You know how they say "everything's bigger in Texas"?
Well...
it's true. :)

I hope you all have been doing well since the last time we spoke. Here. Through the blogosphere. I've missed you all and I really need to get caught up on everything. Yikes.

Hello, hello

Sorry for my total lack of posts lately. But between finals, papers, grief, and a complete lack of energy I just haven't/ hadn't had the energy to put any time into my blog. I wasn't completely myself for awhile. But now...

School's Out For Summmmmerrrrr!

well, technically it's been out for about a week and a half but still...
Thank you Alice Cooper for inspiring that one ;).

I'm so excited to begin this long stretch of freedom ahead of me. I've got plans and I want to make this a summer to end all summers! haha. And I'm so glad that I have some time off now to regroup and to just do what I do. :)

Here's to summer and all of the endless possibilities I have always felt it brings.

The Randomness That Defines Me

Things have been pretty good recently, I can't complain too much. I've just been swamped with school and everything, which accounts for my total lack of posts in the last two weeks. :(

I hope all is well in blogging world and the only other thing I can say is thank goodness it's almost Spring Break. I am definitely looking forward to some time off to do anything and everything I want... I think a Road Trip is definitely in order.
