My Life Lately

(taken this summer, via  my Instagram)

Since making the decision to move out on my own a little more than 7 months ago I have learned a lot.  A lot about life.  A lot about work.  A lot about myself.  I've learned how important it is to surround yourself with people you love and whom love you in return.  I've learned that toilet paper is a necessity and that I have to overstock on it...or else I might run out without realizing it.  I've learned that it's always a good idea to be nice to people when you first meet them...you never know when you'll meet them again, and how they might impact your life (and vice verse).  I've learned to take time for myself.  I've learned that just because you quit 2 jobs and lose another... doesn't mean that you're a failure.  It just means that you're still searching for what you want.  I've learned how important it is to save enough for bills... but that it's still okay to allow myself to go out occasionally.  I've learned to ask for what I want.

I guess mostly, I've learned to not be so afraid of life.  I may still be single, yes, but I can do things on my own.  I am a strong, successful, and beautiful woman and there is nothing wrong with being myself.  I can do whatever I set my mind to and you know what?  I'll be okay.  My life might not be perfect but I'm okay with that.  I'll be okay.  Things are going the way they're supposed to.

This New Year is going to be a good one.  I can feel it.  Full of exciting new challenges, changes, happiness, laughter, and love.

I hope that whomever is reading this blog (if anyone still is) is doing well.  I wish you a happy year ahead, too. :)

Bring it on 2013!  Let's do this!

Hello, hello

Oh hiiiii, guys.

It's just me. (You know.) Kaitlyn.

Yeah...I've been a pretty bad blogger lately. Believe me. I'm aware of this fact. ;) But...let's still be friends?

I've missed my blog/blogging friends/reading blogs. :( I'm going to try to keep on top of things the next couple months. :) Promise.

In the meantime...here:

Have a cupcake.

Or at least...a picture of one.

Be back soon!

C'mon get happy

I'm happy today because:
  • Fall is in the air. Soon I can start wearing layers again...yay! :)
  • Today I got to spend some much needed time with my sisters. I feel like I hardly see them anymore so this was a nice change.
  • It's raining outside. And I don't have to be anywhere, so I can lounge around in my pajamas and drink tea. *happiness*
  • My car's sun roof is no longer leaking. Commence with the happy dance... ;)
  • I'm caught up on my homework.
  • I got to eat lunch with my mama three times this week. I love when that happens.
  • My new TOMS came in the mail yesterday.
  • Things are going well at work still and /as/a/result/ I have money in the bank.
  • I have been spending lots of time snuggling with my kitties and puppies.
  • AND I discovered this song:

Things are looking up!

Happy Saturday!

Much Love Monday

I realize that most of my posts on this topic have been food related...but nontheless....
this week I'm lovin' PANCAKES.

Seriously, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. And almost nothing beats a meal as beautiful as this.
yummm
What's your favorite breakfast food?
Be sure to check out the other Much Love posts.

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland

I love my Daddy dearly.
He's always been there for me, teaching me and watching me grow. I've learned so much from him and am so grateful for all that he has done for me and continues to do for me.
Without his guidance and love I might not be here, standing, alive and well.
Thank you Daddy for everything. You have been my coach, my defender, and friend.
Happy Father's Day to you!
And to all the Dad's out there that care enough to give so much of themselves.
This day was made for you. Here's to another year ahead!
Much love,
Kaitlyn

Jeez Louise

My best friend of nearly five years is in Italy with her family again this summer. And I really miss her :(.

With her gone, I feel like I'm being forcibly deprived of pizza.
haha no joke. :)

Because pizza is, after all, one of the most important parts of life. Especially Italian pizza.
Seriously, I still dream of that pizza I had in Vicenza that one time...mmmm.

Anyways, the point is, I really love my best friend. Oh, and she finally has a blog!

So you should definitely check it out. :)

And in other pleasant news:
I received a blog award!

From JessicaLeighLaLou! Yeah!

hehe

I would like to pass this award to anyone that manages to find their way onto my blog.

For no other reason than that I think you guys rock! Thank you for your continued support and for the comments you leave. They make me feel appreciated here in the blogging world.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Mine went pretty smoothly, I can honestly say. Tomorrow will be busy though so I should probably head off to bed. Night night! Have a great Monday. See you all tomorrow...

New Song

I heard this song today and I'm totally in love with it. Over and over, it keeps playing in my head. It really makes you wonder at the fragility of life and of love.

"No One's Gonna Love You"
~Band of Horses

It's looking like a limb torn off
Or altogether just taken apart
We're reeling through an endless fall
We are the ever-living ghost of what once was

But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one's gonna love you more than I do

And anything to make you smile
It is my better side of you to admire
But they should never take so long
Just to be over then back to another one

But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one's gonna love you more than I do

But someone,
They could have warned you
When things start splitting at the seams and now
The whole thing's tumbling down
Things start splitting at the seams and now
If things start splitting at the seams and now,
It's tumbling down
Hard.

Anything to make you smile
You are the ever-living ghost of what once was
I never want to hear you say
That you'd be better off
Or you liked it that way

But no one is ever gonna love you more than I do
No one's gonna love you more than I do
But someone
They should have warned you
When things start splitting at the seams and now
The whole thing's tumbling down
Things start splitting at the seams and now
If things start splitting at the seams and now,
It's tumbling down
Hard
